Since coming under the ownership of Mike Claydon and Wendy Hill in February 2007, the Colliers Arms has been selected for inclusion in many of the countries most widely recognized guide books. Most of these guides have very high standards for inclusion and use recommendations from their readers and even visits by "mystery customers" to decide which establishments are good enough to be included.
The Colliers Arms is proud to be listed in the following guide books;
• Michelin Eating out in Pubs Guide 2009, 2010 & 2011
(see the full review below)
• Michelin Restaurant Guide 2009
• The AA 2009 & 2010 Pub Guide
• The AA Family Pubs In Britain 2009 & 2011
• The Good Beer Guide 2009, 2010 & 2011
• Alastair Sawday's Special Places Pubs & Inns 2009
In addition to this, the Colliers Arms was entered into and reached the final of the Worcestershire Life Food Awards 2008 in the 'Newcomer of the Year' category. Also Mike himself reached the national semi-final of the British Institute of Innkeeping Licensee of the Year Award 2008. We are also in the running for the UKTV Food 'Local Heroes 2008'.
Michelin "Eating Out in Pubs" Guide 2011
The Colliers Arms are proud and delighted to announce that we have been selected for the Michelin Eating out in Pubs guide. This guide's reputation is among the best and standards for inclusion are high.
Here is what the guide says about The Colliers Arms;
"The owners may be young but they've settled in nicely and are running the place well. Keeping the locals happy is their main priority, so you'll find a pool table in the cosy bar area and regular quiz and theme nights taking place throughout the year. To the rear, a lovely terrace provides the perfect suntrap and, beyond this, you'll find the hens and vegetable garden that supply the pub. Cooking is unfussy but flavoursome, with a classical base and dishes are usually brought to the table by the owners themselves. They bake their own bread and tasty homemade cookies, and nearly all produce comes from within 10 miles. Smaller suppliers are favoured and you'll often find them in the pub, personally sampling the dishes they contributed to."
